Late Tonight follows Nick Burton, a recently divorced ex-doctor who has decided to finally follow his dreams of being a late night talkshow host. The only thing keeping him going is his naive optimism that he can quickly achieve his ridiculous dream. In a similar style to Bad Trip, Bad Grandpa, and the Borat films, this show blends a mix of traditional narrative storytelling along with reality stunts involving unsuspecting non-actors — who either don’t know they’re being filmed, or are being filmed under false pretenses and believe Nick Burton is a real person.
